Your Consultation Visit:

During your consultation visit with me, we will discuss your concerns and expectations. Since there are individual factors that may affect your surgery, we will talk together about the results you can expect and I will give you a basic understanding of the procedure. We will get accurate measurements of your breasts and, if you desire additional volume, we will discuss if an implant is advisable for you. You are welcome to tour our accredited surgery center so that you can be comfortable with the area where your surgery will be performed. One of our patient coordinators will prepare a pricing sheet for the procedure you have chosen and can provide you with financing information if you desire.

The Procedure:

During the breast lift procedure we remove excess skin and tighten the surrounding tissue which reshapes and supports your new breast contour and lifts the nipple back to a more centered position on the breast. Mastopexy does not round out the upper part of your breast. If this is your goal, we will talk about doing a combination Mastopexy/Augmentation procedure to achieve the look you want.

Anesthesia:

Mastopexy is done under general anesthesia and takes approximately two hours to complete. The procedure will be performed here at our accredited surgery center. Medication will keep you comfortable after your surgery.

Recovery:

After surgery, you will be placed in a surgical bra which you will continue to wear to minimize swelling and support your breasts as you heal. During this time, your recovery room nurse will give your caregiver instructions on how best to care for you once you leave. You will return to our office one week after your surgery for you first follow-up visit. Breast lift patients can usually return to work within a few days up to a week after surgery. We will advise you in your post-op visits when you can return to normal activities.
