Facial Rejuvenations

Rhinoplasty:

This procedure is used to improve the shape and appearance of the nose.

Who is a Candidate?

Patients who are wishing to correct the proportion of their nose. Often, patients complain of nose size, nose width, nose humps or depressions, large or dropping nasal tips of wide nostrils.

Your Consultation Visit:

During your initial visit, we will talk about realistic expectations to improve or enhance your facial definition. I will then complete a medical history with you and perform your physical contour. Together, we can review your goals and I will recommend options that would be available to achieve your desired correction. Expected outcomes and risk will be reviewed and your questions answered.

The Procedure:

Since surgery of the nose is very individualized, your procedure may be done as either a closed procedure, where the incision is hidden inside the nose or an open procedure when the incision is made across the narrow strip of skin that separates the nostrils. Once the nose is resulted to the desired shape, incisions will be closed and a nasal splint will support the nose for approximately one week as you heal and the swelling subsides.

Anesthesia:

General anesthesia will be used for your comfort and safety.

Recovery:

Initially you may have some swelling and need to keep your head elevated. You may feel congested for 2-4 weeks but, it is important that you do not blow your nose. Post-op discomfort is minimal but, oral pain medication will be prescribed to you. A week after the procedure, your nasal splint will be removed. It may take several months for the swelling to fully subside and up to six months for the final results of the surgery to be refined.
