Brachioplasty (Arm Lift Surgery)
Brachioplasty, also known as an arm lift surgery, lifts and reshapes the underside of the upper part of the arm, from the armpit to the elbow, enhancing the overall look and feel of this part of the body and making it appear smoother and more contoured. Although it is not intended as a substitute or a replacement for eating right and exercising, arm lift surgery can provide substantial positive results for many patients.

Your Consultation Visit
During your consultation, we will talk about the surgery so that you will have a good understanding of the procedure and realistic expectations about the results. We will also discuss the risks and limitations and, of course, any questions or concerns you may have. I will examine your arms, take photographs for reference during your surgery, and discuss with you your health history and any current medications and/or supplements you are taking to make certain that this procedure can be executed safely. You also are welcome to tour our center should you desire to have your surgery performed here, and our patient care coordinator will be happy to talk with you about financing options that are available to help cover the cost of the surgery.
I can perform a typical arm lift procedure in about two hours. If you do not have much excess skin under your arm, a simple liposuction procedure may be enough. If you carry excess weight and have a vast amount of underarm skin, it may be necessary for me to remove tissue through an incision that will be about the length of the elbow to the armpit and into the side of the chest.
Arm lift surgery is performed under general anesthesia here at our fully accredited surgery center.
The contours of the arms will likely be remarkably improved immediately following surgery and will continue to improve during the subsequent weeks. You can expect to wear bandages for a period of time after surgery, and in some cases, compression bandages may be applied to reduce swelling.
You will be allowed to go home the same day. Post-surgical discomfort may linger for a couple of days after surgery; however, medication will help alleviate any discomfort. Most patients can return to work in seven to 10 days, but minor fatigue may persist for a few weeks after your surgery. More details and instructions on your post-op care will be provided, and you may return to normal activities after your post-op visit with us.
At Accent On You, we take pride in delivering the utmost quality of care with a personalized approach. Our patients in Arlington, Dallas Fort Worth, and the surrounding communities in Texas receive nothing but the most comprehensive information on the procedures we perform because we believe that an informed decision is the best decision.
