Liposuction techniques have become more and more advanced and precise due to several new refinements. Today, we perform infiltration with tumescent solution in conjunction with VASER® or suction-assisted liposuction. During this procedure, we sculpt the body and remove unwanted fat from areas such as the inner and outer thighs, waist, hips, back, knees, upper arms, chin/neck, and abdomen.
Who Is a Candidate for Liposuction?

Liposuction Before and Afters
Individual Results May Vary
Your Liposuction Consultation Visit
During your visit, we will talk about your areas of concern, determine the location of your fat deposits, and assess the condition of your skin. We will also talk about the outcomes you can expect and alternative procedures if liposuction is not a good choice for you. For instance, in women who have had children, a tummy tuck may be a better choice for the abdominal area. We will discuss risks and complications, and of course, address any additional questions you may have about the procedure. You are also welcome to tour our accredited surgery center so that you can be comfortable with where your surgery will be performed. Our patient care coordinator will give you pricing information for the procedures you have chosen and financing options if you are interested.
The Liposuction Procedure
Through a small incision, I will insert a narrow cannula and inject the fatty layer with tumescent solution. This is a medicated solution that helps to remove the fat more easily, reduces blood loss and bruising and provides anesthesia during and after the surgery. This tumescent liposuction is combined with VASER® liposuction in which we use an ultrasonic probe that “melts” the fat. The emulsified fat is easier to remove and allows for smoother and more predictable contouring and quicker recovery times for our patients. This emulsified fat is then easily suctioned into a surgical vacuum pump. This process is repeated if the procedure covers more than one area.
Excellent doctor and wonderful staff!!! I am very happy with my procedure and recommend him to anyone who is looking to have plastic surgery done. His nurses are great, the office is clean and inviting. Just all around great experience!!
The Vaser Liposuction Procedure
Vaser liposuction is a minimally invasive technique that begins by making tiny incisions in the areas to be treated. I will gently treat unwanted fat cells using ultrasound energy and ultimately remove them from the body. After the procedure, which can take one hour to several hours depending on the areas to be treated, special compression garments are applied. These compression garments will help your skin conform to its new contours.
Though there are limits to the amount of fat that can be removed, this type of procedure has been proven to offer effective, precise results with a minimal amount of pain and bruising.
Anesthesia for Liposuction
Liposuction is comfortable and safe when performed under general anesthesia. The length of time depends on the areas of concern and the amount of fat deposits. Medication will keep you comfortable after your surgery. Vaser liposuction is performed under general anesthesia either in a fully accredited surgical center or in a hospital.
You will be fitted with a snug compression garment before you leave the surgery area. You will wear this garment for a few weeks to help control swelling and hold your skin contours after surgery. Your recovery room nurse will give your caregiver post-op instructions while you are waking up in the recovery room. You may have some fluid drainage from your incision areas for a few days as well as some bruising. Healing is gradual as your swelling disappears, but most patients return to work a few days to a week after surgery. Your final contour will be more evident after about three months. Sutures will be removed one week after surgery.
