The Gynecomastia procedure is a reduction procedure for men who have enlarged tissue in their chest. Many men in the United States suffer from this condition. This occurrence is often caused by hormonal changes, diet, obesity, or sometimes certain medications. Often, these men are self-conscious and unwilling to take part in certain activities that would expose their chest. To help regain the natural masculine contours many patients get surgery.

Your Consultation Visit?
During your consultation at Accent on You, we will go over the surgery in detail so that each of our patients has a complete understanding of the procedure and realistic expectations about the results. Dr. Mohan will listen to each concern from our patients to help create the best treatment plan for them. We will also discuss all of the risks, limitations, and any individual questions you may have at the time of the consultation. Then some steps will be taken such as a complete examination of the breast tissue, pictures for reference, and a complete review of medical history and all medications that are being used. Our team takes all these steps to give our patients the best care and results possible.
The gynecomastia procedure will help to reduce the size of the chest while also contouring them to create a more masculine look. Most often, the procedure uses a combination of liposuction and excision to recreate a masculine profile. This procedure typically takes about two hours to complete.
The gynecomastia procedure is done under general anesthesia either in Accent On You’s fully accredited surgery center or at an outpatient medical facility.
Complete aftercare details and instructions will be provided to you before the gynecomastia surgery. Post-operative discomfort may linger for a few days following the surgery. Some medication can be provided to help with any pain or discomfort. Patients may have to wear a compression garment following the surgery to help the breasts heal properly. Most patients return to work within a week, but daily activities may need to be monitored still. At a post-operative visit with us, we will help determine when you can return to full daily activities.
At Accent On You, we take pride in delivering the utmost quality of care with a personalized approach. Our patients in Arlington, Dallas Fort Worth, and the surrounding communities in Texas receive nothing but the most comprehensive information on the procedures we perform because we believe that an informed decision is the best decision.
